Walk to Run with Chrissie
I can't recommend Chrissie Stephenson enough.
Over the years I have tried to run but never enjoyed it and never really ‘got’ it.
Chrissie is a mine of useful information and tips and not only got me running 5k but beyond. I ran a 10k this summer and have signed up for the Royal Parks Half Marathon in October - a big challenge that I would never have dreamed of this time last year.
In Chrissie’s group everyone works to their own level and it’s so friendly.
So if you want to make a positive change in your life, try this.
It got me outside all weathers, I discovered parts of Richmond Park I didn’t know existed and you always feel good after!
Ps and it case that isn’t enough incentive, in combination the running and with a healthier diet - I lost 2 stone in 4 months and dropped 2 dress sizes.
And many aches and pains that I thought were there for good, have gone.....
Walk to Run
- intimidated by skinny athletic looking runners
- worried about slowing others
- struggled to stick to Couch-to-5k or stick to running

- find yourself out of breath after five minutes
Come and join a lovely friendly, non judgemental group, who are in the same boat as you.

One of my wonderful runners
Someone who'd never been able to stick to running before joining my fantastic groups
Get in touch to come and try
It was Lucy's first time at Walk to Run with Chrissie
-she even felt brave enough to do a video :)
Here’s what she made of it:
I’m still here and -
I haven’t died!
which was my big fear
I made it down here
And I’m so glad that I did”
Before joining, I was so worried about not being able to get very far, getting out of breath, and not being able to keep going.
I’d tried to run by myself before, and had literally puked at the side of the road!!!
But a friend of mine had started running with Chrissie,
She said how friendly Chrissie is,
that everyone goes at their own pace,
and it’s a really nice mixed group of people.
- not supermodels running marathons !:)
So I thought I’d give it a go.
It’s now one of the things I look forward to.
I actually get out, and I go!
I use to say to myself “oh I’ll go for a wee run during the week” and it'd never happen.
But with Chrissie’s group you do,
because you know you’re going to meet some friendly people, you’re going to have a laugh and you’re going to feel good afterwards
and (!) I’ve done two 5ks since joining!!
I was unfit, overweight and getting bigger!
I'd tried gyms in the past
I now run.
I realise that I have parts of my body I never knew needed working. I've gained confidence and positivity. Stretching and yoga have also been new great things that I've never done.
It's fun! Chrissie pushes and encourages you, when you don't think you can continue. Super friendly and positive. Helpful in every way.
It's the improvement in not only my fitness, but happiness and mindset
If you're thinking of joining,
Get fit in body and mind.
Enjoy uplifting drives towards achieving goals. Be introduced to things you didn't even know you'd enjoy.
Before Chrissie, I was losing my struggle with motivation. Gyms were horribly impersonal chambers of embarrassment. Now, I can't be outdoors enough. I find myself doing core stretching even at work!
All of this, down to this inspirational woman!
I was so worried about not being quick enough, looking out of place and had hated running at school
Every time I've tried on my own, I'd get out of breath or just not stuck to it.
I sleep better, my energy and mood are better
It really is the highlight of my week
